How this is counted

The index is computed from the legs on the UpLeg board at the moment you loaded the page: the empty legs that FAA-certificated Part 135 operators have published and that pass our listing checks. It is a picture of what is on the market, not a forecast, and it changes through the day as legs post and are withdrawn.

A leg is counted as operator-priced when the operator published a price with it. The rest show a UpLeg estimate, clearly marked on every listing, and those estimates are left out of every price figure on this page. Medians are used throughout so a single unusual leg cannot move a number.

The discount compares an operator's asking price with UpLeg's estimate of what the same aircraft would cost as a full charter on the same route. That estimate is a model calibrated on real operator quotes, not a quote itself, so read the figure as typical, not exact.

You are welcome to cite these figures with the timestamp and a link to this page. Questions or a request for the underlying data: [email protected].
